The Japanese government is providing support to child-rearing families badly affected by the recent consumer price hike. Eligible families are entitled to receive the “Nation-wide Special Benefit for Supporting Child-rearing Families”.
◆Eligibility
Parents/guardians raising children born from April 2, 2007 through March 31, 2026 are eligible if they meet one of the following criteria:
(1) Those who were qualified to receive the Child Rearing Allowance as of September 2025 (or as of October 2025, if they became eligible because the child being born in September 2025), [public employees not included],
(2) Those who were/will be qualified because of a child born between October 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026 [public employees not included], and
(3) Public employees who were registered residents of Minoh City in September 2025 and were qualified to receive the Child Rearing Allowance as of September 2025 or were/will be qualified to receive same due to a child newly born between October 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026
◆Benefit amount: ¥20,000 per child
How to apply:
Those meeting (1) (2) above, no further action is required.
Others described in (3) above are required to fill out the application form downloaded from the Minoh City website and submit it to the Desk for Early Childhood (Kodomo Sogo Madoguchi) along with other required documents in person or by mail. (The same procedure applies to those who were/will be qualified to receive the Child Rearing Allowance due to divorce finalization on or after October 1, 2025.)
Application deadline: Tue., June 30, 2026 (must be received by that date)
Payment: (1) Scheduled March 30
(2) (3) March 30 onward
