With the revised Road Traffic Act in effect as of April 1, 2023, it became mandatory for all cyclists to wear helmets. According to a survey by the National Police Agency, of all fatal bicycle accidents that occurred in the five years up to 2024, more than half (53.1%) of the deaths were due to head injuries. In order to protect lives, please make sure to wear helmets when riding bicycles. Please ensure that children wear helmets on, not only when children ride their own bicycles, but also when adults ride with children together.
※For more information on bicycle traffic rules, please see the National Police Agency website.
