The “final tax return” is a process where a taxpayer calculates the amount of income tax the payer owes for the period from January to December of the previous year and either gets refunded for overpaid taxes or pays the remaining owed taxes. To calculate the income tax, the taxpayer needs to know the income (such as salary or pension) and the expenses (the money used to gain the income), the total insurance premiums (for National Health Insurance, Medical Care Insurance for the Elderly, Long-term Care Insurance, National Pension, etc.) and total medical expenses.
