If you are self-employed or unemployed and have difficulties in paying National Pension contributions due to your low income, you may apply for exemption or deferred payment under “Menjo Nofu-yuyo Seido” (Exemption or Deferred Payment System for National Pension Contributions). The amount exempted is determined depending on your household income in the previous year (January 1 to December 31, 2023.)
The application must be filed every year. Application submissions have been open since July 1, 2024. However, if you have applied for “continuous application” and been approved by June 30, 2024, you don’t have to apply this year.
If you want to apply for this system, you can get the application form at the City Office, the Toyokawa or Todoromi Branches. For further information on documents required for the filing, please contact the office below.
※You may retroactively make payments for past contribution-exempted periods up to the past 10 years under ”Tsuino Seido” (the Recovery System of the Past Exempted Contributions).
