Many elderly people lose their lives from pneumonia. A major cause of pneumonia is pneumococcus. There is a pneumococcus vaccination to prevent pneumonia. This vaccination is discounted 6,000 yen when you have a coupon. You still have to pay between 2,000 yen to 2,500 yen. The basic fee varies by hospital. The discount coupons were sent to the eligible people in March 2019. The coupon is valid until Tue., Mar. 31, 2020.

90 years old April 2, 1929 – April 1, 1930
85 years old April 2, 1934 – April 1, 1935

75 years old April 2, 1944 – April 1, 1945
70 years old April 2, 1949 – April 1, 1950
65 years old April 2, 1954 – April 1, 1955
