The COVID-19 Vaccination Schedule for Fiscal Year 2023

Covid-19 vaccination is free of charge until Mar. 31, 2024. People aged 6 months or older can receive the first vaccination at any time until Mar. 31, 2024. Booster vaccinations are divided into spring-start vaccinations (until Aug. 31) and autumn-start vaccinations (after Sep. 1).
◆Booster vaccination for those aged 12 or older:
Those who have completed the first vaccination (1st and 2nd shots) can receive one more vaccination after Sep.1 (autumn-start vaccination).
However, people with the following a. to c. can receive the spring-start vaccination (an omicron variant effective vaccine) one more time (twice a year in total).
a. Those who are aged 65 or older
b. Those who have underlying medical conditions or at higher risk of serious complications
c. Those working in nursing facilities for aged people or medical institutions
※Minoh City will send the spring-start vaccination tickets to those eligible in their scheduled order by post.
※If person b. or c. have not applied electronically to Minoh City yet, they will need to apply.
◆Booster vaccination for those aged between 5 and 11:
Spring-start vaccinations (until Aug. 31): Children can receive a booster shot of the omicron variant effective vaccine (once per person). Those who have underlying medical conditions can receive one more shot. If you have an underlying disease and want to receive a booster vaccination, you need to apply electronically to Minoh City. People who have passed 3 months since the last vaccination can be vaccinated.
Autumn-start vaccinations (after Sep. 1): Those who have completed the first vaccination (1st and 2nd shots).
※Minoh City will send the vaccination tickets to those eligible in their scheduled order by post.
◆Vaccination for children from 6 months to 4 years old:
Toddlers need to receive 3 vaccinations in total (the 2nd shot is given 3 weeks after the 1st, and the 3rd is given 8 weeks after the 2nd). Minoh City will send the vaccination tickets to those eligible in their scheduled order by post. Eligible toddlers can be vaccinated for free until Mar. 31, 2024.
Vaccination is not mandatory. Please carefully consider both the effects and risks.
For information on where to get vaccination and how to make a reservation, please refer to the leaflet that arrived with the vaccination ticket. It is inoculation only in individual medical institutions.
