The issuance of new National Health Insurance cards in their current form ended in December 2024. Your current health insurance card will no longer be valid after its expiration date. After that, the system will shift to use your “MAINA Health Insurance Card” (a “My Number Card” registered for use as a health insurance card).
The following items will be sent to NHI subscribers from mid-October. No application is required for either item.
(1) Those who have registered to use the “MAINA Health Insurance Card” will receive a “Notice of Qualification Information” (by regular mail).
(2) Those who have not registered will receive a “Qualification Confirmation Letter” (sent by simple registered mail).
※These will be sent to the head of each household for all eligible household members. For the validity period of the “Qualification Confirmation Letter” (2), please refer to the document enclosed with the letter.
※The “Notice of Qualification Information” can not be used on its own. It is required only when qualification verification is not possible due to a power outage or system failure.
