Testing for Rubella Antibodies and Receive Vaccinations

◆ Antibody Testing
Those who meet the following conditions (“a” and “b”) can receive rubella antibody testing. It is free of charge. It is known that when a woman contracts rubella during pregnancy, there is risk of complications.
a. Women who are planning to become pregnant or are currently pregnant
b. Individuals living with women in category “a” above (including cases where the woman returns to her family home to give birth)
◆Vaccination
If your antibody level is below the standard, please get vaccinated. You can receive a subsidy of up to ¥6,000 toward the vaccination cost.
Location: Designated medical institutions in Minoh City (Please make an appointment in advance)
Deadline: Tuesday, March 31, 2026
How to Apply:
(1) Complete the application form
(2) Send it by post or submit it in person to the Community Health Division (Chiiki Hoken-shitsu)
(Address: 5-8-1 Kayano, Minoh City, 562-0014)
※Those who received routine vaccinations between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2025, or who have previously received a subsidy, are not eligible.
※You must pay for the vaccination yourself at the medical institution, and ¥6,000 will be reimbursed later. The application deadline for this subsidy is Tuesday, April 7.
◆Individuals with an Extended MR Vaccine Period
For individuals in category “a” below, the MR vaccine period has been extended until Wednesday, March 31, 2027, due to vaccine shortages in 2024. You can receive a subsidy of up to ¥10,219 for the vaccination cost.
a. Males born between April 2, 1962 and April 1, 1979 who have undergone antibody testing by March 31, 2025 and have rubella antibody levels that are below the standard

(2) Send it by post or submit it in person to the Community Health Division (Chiiki Hoken-shitsu)

※Those who received the vaccination by March 31 must apply for the subsidy by April 7.
◆ Individuals Eligible for Additional Subsidy from Minoh City
Minoh City provides a subsidy (up to ¥6,000) for vaccination costs to the following individuals. This subsidy is available until March 31, 2027.
Eligibility: Individuals who are in category “a” or “b”, and who underwent antibody testing by March 31, 2025 and had rubella antibody levels below the standard.
a. Individuals born before April 1, 1962
b. Males born between April 2, 1979 and April 1, 1990
How to apply:
(1) Complete the application form
(2) Send it by post or submit it in person to the Community Health Division (Chiiki Hoken-shitsu)
