The pneumococcal vaccine prevents infections such as pneumonia caused by pneumococci and prevents them from becoming more severe. Minoh City sent ￥6,000 off coupon for pneumococcal vaccination and vaccination information to eligible elderly people by mail in March 2023. If you use this coupon, you can receive a vaccination for around ￥2,500 to ￥3,000.
◆Eligible people for vaccination in the fiscal year 2023
Those who will reach their 65th, 70th, 75th, 80th, 85th, 90th, 95th, 100th birthday between Apr. 2, 2023 and Apr. 1, 2024. This coupon can only be used once. It has not been sent to those who have previously received this vaccination using the coupon. The vaccination deadline is Mar. 31, 2024. If you are eligible and have lost your coupon, or if you have just moved to Minoh City and do not have a coupon, please contact below.
◆Pneumococcal vaccine coupon from the fiscal year 2024
From the fiscal year 2024, the eligible people for this coupon will be only 65 years old. Other ages can receive a voluntary vaccination (a method of vaccination where you pay the entire cost yourself).
◆People aged 60 to 64 who can be vaccinated
People who (a) have heart, liver, or respiratory dysfunction or (b) have an immune system disorder caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) can also receive the vaccine using the coupon. If you are a person in (a) or (b) and wish to receive vaccination, please contact below. Minoh City will send this vaccination coupon and information by mail to people.For both (a) and (b), those who have received this vaccination even once cannot use the coupon.
※ If you want to receive pneumococcal vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine, please wait at least 2 weeks between the two.
※Pneumococcal infections vaccination do not protect against all pneumonia.
※This vaccination is not mandatory. Please decide by yourself considering the effects and risks （side effects）.
