Medical Checkups during Pregnancy

You will receive Prenatal Checkup Coupons (Ninpu Kenkou Shinsa Jushin Ken) (14 coupons) along with your Maternal and Child Health Handbook as public funding for your medical checkups. You can use these coupons to lower the cost of fees at hospitals or maternity centers in Osaka Prefecture (some hospitals may not accept these coupons).

  • Generally, you use the first coupon when you get a blood test.
  • The 2nd to 14th coupons can be used at any time throughout your pregnancy.
  • In case of multiple birth pregnancies, the cost of fees for the 15th to 19th visits can also be lowered.
