It is said that a major earthquake may strike Japan very soon. You may be unable to stand, objects may fall, and large pieces of furniture may fall over. Please make sure to place large and heavy items in safe places, especially in bedrooms and kitchens.
◆Precautions in the Bedroom
(1) Do not place large pieces of furniture in the following locations
a. Next to where a person is sleeping
b. Near the door
(2) Sleep as far away from the window as possible
(3) Do not place large, heavy, or breakable items near your head
(4) Keep slippers near your sleeping area so you can walk safely even if there are broken objects
(5) If you cannot move the furniture, attach brackets or other fasteners to prevent it from falling over
◆Precautions in the Kitchen
(1) Prevent dishes from falling out of cupboards (install stoppers on cupboard doors, etc.)
(2) Prevent appliances such as microwaves from sliding off surfaces (use adhesive mats, etc.)
(3) Prevent refrigerators and cupboards from falling over (use anti-tip stoppers, L-shaped brackets, etc.)
(4) Prevent glass from shattering and scattering if a window breaks (apply safety film).
※Stoppers and other safety devices can be purchased at DIY stores (such as Konan and Ayahadio).
