◆You May Postpone the Filing of Some Supporting Documents
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak you may be allowed to postpone the filing of some supporting documents required for the renewal/extension of the following disability certificates.
Eligibility: Holders of Mental Disability Certificate (Seishin Shogaisha Hoken Fukushi Techo) which expires between March 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021 and holders of Physical Disability Certificate (Shintai Shogaisha Techo) / Psychiatric Disability Certificate (Ryoiku Techo) which require reassessment during the same period.
◆You May Choose to Have Them Digitized_
Effective October 1, 2020, Physical/Mental Disability Certificates holders may choose either to have them in a printed form as before (Techo) or to switch them to a digital card. If you choose to have them digitized, please apply for the card after October 1, 2020.
(1) Eligibility:
- Physical Disability Certificate (Shintai Shogaisha Techo) holders; may apply in their birth month.
- Mental Disability Certificate (Seishin Shogaisha Hoken Fukushi Techo) holders; may apply 3 months before or after the expiration date.
- New applicants of Physical/Mental Disability Certificates
