Students who may be unable to go on to high school or technical college due to their guardians’ financial difficulties are eligible to apply for a scholarship or a loan from Minoh City. Those who wish may apply.
◆Types of scholarship:
(1) Grant-type scholarship (do not need to be returned)
Amount: \50,000 per year
Limit: About 500 students (chosen by drawing, if the number of applications is beyond the limit)
(2) Student loan (need to return after graduation)
Scholarship loan amount: Up to \150,000 for public high schools, etc. per year, up to \300,000 for private high schools, etc. per year
Limit: About 20 public high school students, and about 20 private high school students
◆Eligibility:
Those who meet the following conditions a. to c.
a. High school or technical college students
b. Their guardian(s) are Minoh resident(s).
c. Their guardian(s) are, for the scholarship (1) – exempted from the resident tax for FY2022 (except those receiving welfare benefits), for the scholarship (2) – person(s) whose income in FY2021 is 1.5 times or less than the welfare standard.
◆Application Forms and Application Guides :
You can collect them at the School Life Support Division, Toyokawa Branch and Todoromi Branch. For the scholarship (1) – from Fri., Apr. 1 to Mon., Dec. 5, and for the scholarship (2) – from Fri., Apr.,1 to Thu., Apr. 28. They can also be downloaded from the Minoh City website. ◆How to apply
For the scholarship (1) – fill out an application form and take it to the School Life Support Division or send it by registered mail.
For the scholarship (2) – fill out an application form and take it to the School Life Support Division. You can’t apply by post.
