Japan is prone to various natural disasters. International residents often feel anxious because they do not know what to do or cannot understand the disaster related information. For this reason, Minoh City offer following four things.
◆There are Foreign Disaster Prevention Advisors
The “Foreign Disaster Prevention Advisor” is a foreign Japanese speaker who has received training in disaster prevention. They help international residents to gain knowledge about disaster prevention. This enables international residents to help each other in their community and share accurate information. Workshops and events are planned to learn about disaster prevention.
◆Distribute English version of the Citizen Safety Alert Email
In case of disasters, Minoh City will distribute the “Citizen Safety Alert Email” in English. It contains information about the disaster. By registering your e-mail address, you will be able to get timely and accurate information. Some of the urgent announcements from Minoh City are translated into multiple languages (Korean, Chinese, English, etc.) and can be found on the MAFGA website and SNS.

◆Encourage Minoh citizens to talk in “Easy Japanese”
Minoh City request Minoh citizens to talk kindly to international residents in trouble during a disaster using “Easy Japanese”. Please feel free to ask anyone for help in case of need.
◆Hold events in which Minoh citizens and international residents can interact with each other
