If you are self-employed or unemployed and have difficulties paying National Pension contributions due to low income, you may apply for exemption or deferred payment under “Menjo Nofu-yuyo Seido” (Exemption or Deferred Payment System for National Pension Contributions). The exempted amount is determined based on your household income in the previous year (January 1 to December 31, 2024.)
The application must be filed every year. Application submissions have been open since Tuesday, July 1, 2025. However, if you have applied for “continuous application” and were approved by June 30, 2025, you do not need to apply this year. To apply, you can get the application form at the City Office, the Toyokawa or Todoromi Branches. For further information on the required documents, please contact the office below.
※You may retroactively make payments for past contribution-exempted periods going back up to 10 years under ”Tsuino Seido” (the Recovery System of the Past Exempted Contributions).
